My July 2012 workshop will be at the new art school through The Good Art Company Gallery located at Baron's Creekside. Put a little joy in your brush and join me for three full days of painting flowers in oils in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, a charming Hill Country town with great shopping, galleries, golf, and restaurants.
We will focus on learning to loosen your approach to still life and enjoy the spontaneity of nature. Working with real flowers, the workshop will teach the basics of composition and how to create brilliant color while working from a transparent background. I'll show you some simple methods for making your flower paintings look authentic and beautiful.
Open for all painters, from beginners to those who are experienced with oil painting, as well as artists who would like to try oils for the first time. Price is $350 for 3 full days. A deposit of half down is due to reserve your space, with full payment due by June 20. Class is from 8 am to 3 pm daily, to give you a little time in the afternoons for shopping in the charming downtown of this well preserved historic German village in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The Motel 6 is new and while it is not a four star hotel, I have stayed there before and found it to be clean and pet friendly, too! Here are some fun activities for your better half while you are painting - there are some great golf courses nearby, as well as the famous Admiral Nimitz war museum on Main Street. A public golf course is open at Lady Bird Johnson Ranch - www.golffredericksburg.com.
